Echoes of Sodus Bay Heritage Weekend

June 13 @ 10:00 am - June 14 @ 5:00 pm

Step back in time and experience the vibrant history of Lake Ontario's most storied communities. The Echoes of Sodus Bay Heritage Weekend is a two-day celebration of the people, traditions, and stories that shaped the communities of Sodus Bay — and the waterfront that has anchored it all.

Wander through history on guided walking tours of Sodus Point, uncovering the landmarks, legends, and layered past of this remarkable lakeside village. Step inside the Sodus Bay Historical Society's collection for curated tours of our archives and artifacts, from maritime relics to photographs that bring the past vividly to life. Watch skilled interpreters bring history off the page with living history demonstrations, and sample historically-inspired food that reflects the rich heritage of the region.

History is for everyone! Kids can test their skills with historical games, take home a variety of crafts, learn about the life of a lighthouse keeper during a story time hour, win a prize by testing their knowledge with a Sodus Bay trivia game, go on a scavenger hunt throughout the museum and grounds, and more!

As the sun sets over the bay, gather with your neighbors for a community sea shanty sing-along, led by an experienced singer — voices rising together the way they have on these shores for centuries.
