Hosted by the Sodus Bay Historical Society, the Sodus Point Lighthouse Artisan Festival is a premier juried event set against the breathtaking backdrop of the historic Sodus Point Lighthouse. This unique festival not only celebrates the vibrant world of fine art and craftsmanship but also pays tribute to the rich maritime heritage of the Lake Ontario region.
Perched proudly on a bluff overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Ontario, the iconic 1871 lighthouse offers a truly inspiring setting for both the showcased artists and visiting patrons.
The festival offers spaces for artists to showcase their wares alongside local food and drink vendors. Its growing reputation draws attendees from across the state, with visitors traveling from as far as Buffalo and Albany last year to immerse themselves in this celebration of creativity and skill.
Discover the charm of Sodus Bay, affectionately known as "The Crown Jewel of Lake Ontario." As the largest bay on the lake, conveniently situated midway between Rochester and Syracuse, it provides a perfect destination for a day trip or weekend getaway. The Lighthouse Artisan Festival offers an ideal opportunity to explore this picturesque waterfront community while discovering exceptional fine art and unique crafts.
Parking is available right next to the festival, including designated handicapped parking spots. Additional parking will be available in the village lot at the end of North Ontario Street.
We’ve designated the driveway next to the Lighthouse Museum as a loading zone for purchased artwork. Volunteers will be available to assist you in transporting the artwork from the artist's booth and loading it into your vehicle.
We welcome both our artists and patrons to bring their pets to the show as long as your pet is friendly, gentle, well-behaved, and kept on a leash. Animals will not be allowed inside the museum unless it is a designated service animal. It is your responsibility to keep your pet from disturbing your neighbors.
Our artists and craftspeople are selected through a rigorous jury process, ensuring only the highest quality work is featured. Many of the artists do not have a physical studio or gallery, so the festival provides a rare opportunity to see and purchase their art in person.
If you're interested in connecting with an artist, browse the artwork on our site and click on any piece that catches your eye. You’ll be able to fill out a form to contact the artist. Additionally, if you have any specific questions about an artist, please use our Contact Us form for assistance.
A wide variety of artwork and fine crafts is showcased at each of our fairs, ensuring there's something for everyone to love. Prices range from affordable pieces between $15 and $25 to larger works of art that can be priced in the thousands. The Sodus Point Lighthouse Festival offers visitors a full weekend experience of fine art, delicious food, and unique shopping.
We also encourage you to explore the surrounding streets filled with great eateries, friendly locals, and the beautiful scenery of this charming resort destination on Lake Ontario.
